The Government of Anambra State has set up a Steering committee on the Implementation of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme Phase II by International Idea.
The committee was inaugurated recently by Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Sylvia Chika Ifemeje.
Ifemeje who performed the function in Awka, said that the committee is to oversee the implementation of the RoLAC 11 work plan.
The membership of the committee was drawn from stakeholders in the Justice delivery sector including the Judiciary, the Police, Human Rights group, the civil society organszations, the Law reform committee, public procurement, public prosecution, Women Affairs, Health sector and Persons with disability group.
Speaking during the inauguration exercise, the Attorney-General, who is also the chairman of the committee, enjoined the members to make efforts to ensure that the work plan is implemented.
High-point of the inauguration was presentation of the proposed RoLAC 11 Work plan in the state by the Pilot of RoLAC 11, Mrs Josephine Onah. It was subsequently validated by members and adopted as a working document.
