The traditional ruler of the Ancient Oraifite Kingdom, HRH Igwe Daniel Udoji, has called on the Federal Government to come to the aid of industries to save citizens from hunger and starvation.
Igwe Udoji made the call while interacting with Journalists at his Oraifite palace in Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State.
He said many industries particularly those in the South-East zone are failing due to insecurity and economic policies that are unfriendly to businesses.
He urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene with every physical and economic remedy, noting that their bounce back and productivity will help create opportunities that would help curb crime and insecurity in the land.
The monarch also bemoaned the increasing economic hardship and suffering of Nigerians. According to him, “the level of hunger and starvation across the country is increasingly alarming. I desire that the Federal Government under the watch of President Tinubu will do the necessary radical needfuls, urgently, to ameliorate the suffering of teeming Nigerians.”
Speaking further, Igwe Udoji condemned heavy investments in the building of worship centres over factories, companies and industries that he said have direct economic impact on the well-being of the people.
He said, “The money used in building a church can be used to build factories and industries. Countries like Japan, Korea and China do not have the kind of churches we have in Nigeria, yet they are doing very well. We need to have a rethink and improve our thinking pattern to keep the country going.”
