Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has unveiled an ultramodern mega pavilion at Enugu South Local Government Headquarters, Uwani-Enugu, built by the Chairman of the Council, Barrister Chimezie Nkwuo.

Mbah, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, commended the local government chairman for his vision.

The Pavilion which was named after a great political icon and former Governor of old Anambra State, Dr. Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, was adorned by Nigerian colour of Green White and Green.

In his speech during the unveiling, Mr Aka Eze Aka, Enugu State Commissioner for Information and Communication, said that the edifice was a huge achievement of the Mayor in just his first tenure in office.

He said the Project was one of its kind in all the 17 local government areas of Enugu State and thanked the council boss and his team for a job well done.

He urged the indigenes of Enugu South to keep supporting Nkwuo, saying that he had proven his ability to do more if massively supported.

Speaking, Nkwuo appreciated God for granting him the enablement to complete the pavilion.

He also appreciated his dependable team which include his deputy, Dr. Sandra Onyia; his wife, Barr. Adaeze Nkwuo; stakeholders; political appointees; Council of Igwes; Traditional Rulers; and Party Members.

In his message, the Deputy Governor, Ifeanyi Ossai pointed out that the State Government was proud of Nkwuo for his commitment in the area of human service delivery and leadership prowess in the local government.

He said that the project, dedicated to Dr. Jim Nwobodo is unique, philosophical and welcomed idea from the council boss.

“Dr Jim Nwobo was and still is a great leader of our time and should be remembered, while his leadership legacy should be emulated by anyone that wants to leave positive mark on the sands of time

“By successfully completing this mega pavilion, you have proven to be a great leader whose legacy would be remembered just like you deemed it fit to remember Dr.Jim Nwobodo.

“You have displayed political responsibility and dedication to the people of Enugu South,” he said.

Ossai thanked the Enugu South for their support to the chairman all the while and urged them to intensify their support for governor Mbah, to gain more democratic dividends.

“I implore each and everyone to be a good leader wherever you find yourselves for that is the only way you would be remembered,” he said.

Barr. Patricia Nwobodo, who stood in for her husband Dr. Jim Nwobodo, commended the council for the gesture.
