The 2024 Batch A Stream one National Youth Service Corps members deployed to Imo State have been charged to strive to make positive impacts on the needs and lives of their hosts communities.

The Imo State Coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs Rachel Idaewor, gave the charge during the closing ceremony of Orientation Course at Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.

Mrs. Idaewor disclosed that the coto members have been trained on community development to spur them to contribute towards rural development by proffering solutions to some of the problems confronting their host communities.

She urged them to leverage on the skills acquired during the three weeks orientation to better their lives instead of waiting for white collar jobs after the service.

The Coordinator assured of the commitment of the NYSC towards ensuring the security of corps members but urged them to be security conscious and always watch the back of one another.

Mrs. Idaewor cautioned them against embarking on unauthorised journeys, night travels and acceptance of rides from strangers as part of safety measures while adhering to the provisions of the NYSC Acts and Bye Laws for a rewarding service year.
