Governor, Peter Mbah of Enugu State has appointed Mr. Chijioke Okonkwo as the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission, (ESERC).
The Governor also named Mr. Chinedum Ukabara, Mr. Chuka Akunne and Mr. Ruben Okoye as commissioners in the commission.
This was contained in a letter forwarded to the State House of Assembly on Monday and was read on the floor of the house by the Speaker, Hon. Uche Ugwu, during plenary.
The Speaker then directed the nominees to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to the clerk of the House and appear before the Assembly on Wednesday, 13 March, 2024 for screening and confirmation.
During plenary the house passed for the first reading the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Amendment Bill.
The speaker enjoined members to study the bill for a robust debate during its second reading on a later date.
