A middle aged man by name Ikechukwu Kalu, has been successfully rescued from death by security and staff of Assumpta Cathedral Church Owerri, when he tried committing suicide.
In a video making the rounds on the social media, Mr. Kalu who is said to hail from Ututu in Arochukwu LGA, Abia State, dropped a note beside him for his 8 months pregnant wife, before taking sniper insecticide to end his life.
According to the note he dropped, the father of three said he is tired of life as he is owing the sum of N750,000 and didn’t know how to pay it back.
The security and staff of the Cathedral intervened by giving him coconut water and palm oil as an antidote to the poisonous substance he took.
As at the time of filing this report Ikengaonline was yet to ascertain the current state of the man.
