The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has commended workers in the state for standing up against Mondays sit-at-home illegally declared by some elements in the South-East region.

The CP’s commendation comes ahead of the May 1st, which is a day set aside to celebrate workers in the country and all over the world.

In a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the CP appreciated workers’ resolve in standing up against acts that threaten the country’s unity.

It said: “CP appreciates workers workers in the state for their commitment, dedication, and especially their resolve in sustaining the message of peace and standing up against illegal sit-at-home on Mondays and any other act that threatens our national unity and public peace in the State.”

The CP urged workers and residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant and continue to partner the Police and other security agencies in their efforts to secure the state.

He reassured that the command will continue to synergise and collaborate towards combating all forms of criminality as well as ensure public security and safety in the state.
