Hon. Lloyd Ekweremadu, Commissioner for Youths and Sports in Enugu State says the successful hosting of National Council on Sports technical meeting is a tonic to spice the development of Sports in the state.
Ekweremadu said this while fielding questions from newsmen after the state successfully hosted the meeting held from Monday May 30-Wednesday May 22.
He said that the state government was happy to host such a large contingent from across the 36 states and FCT.
He further commended Governor Peter Mbah for his magnanimity in hosting the conference describing it as a great event.
“The fact that we are giving the hosting right of this great gathering is evident of our commitment to the development of sports in Enugu State under the administration of Governor Peter Mbah,” he said.
The Commissioner said that the meeting would afford various stakeholders opportunity to share ideas, adding that after the meeting the state would evaluate the discussions and take up those that are beneficial to the state with the view to implementing them.
“We have made a statement to the world that Enugu State is committed to the development of sports,” he said.
Ekweremadu further disclosed that the state had five athletes that have been selected to feature in the upcoming Olympic games, especially para athletes.
