In its drive to turn Rangers International F.C. into what is expected of a top professional club side, the management of the seven-time Nigeria league champions ably led by Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, has successfully enrolled over one hundred volunteers who will serve as stadium stewards during Rangers matches.
According to Rangers media officer, Norbert Okolie in a statement, “Young able-bodied male and female residents of the Coal City state trooped out in their numbers to offer themselves for club service and guarantee fans engagement and proper seating arrangement before, during, and after matches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium…
“While addressing the volunteers after they were registered, the G.M/CEO of Rangers, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, thanked the volunteers for answering the club’s call and assured them that it would be a worthwhile experience.”
Ezeaku expressed appreciation for the young people for volunteering to serve the club.
He said: “We are indeed appreciative for your coming out to volunteer yourselves to be of service to the club.
“This goes a long way to show that the club is your own just as I urge you to be professional and courteous in the discharge of your duties which will go a long way to portray our club in good light before the committee of top football playing clubs around the world.”
The club’s Chief Security Officer, James Ubochi, later took the volunteers through some of the tasks that they would be expected to carry out on match days.
The statement said the volunteers would kick start their services in a match day 33, NPFL 2023/2024 fixture between table-topping Rangers International and visiting, Bayelsa United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
