High Chief Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, has commended Governor Peter Mbah for his approval of the construction of Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara road and the Mburubu-Nkerefi road in Nkanu East Local Government Area.
This was contained in a statement released in Enugu and personally signed by him.
He emphasised that Governor Mbah’s actions demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, adding that the roads have significant value to the community.
Onuokaibe said that the roads would boost the economic activities of the Mburubu people, who are known for their substantial agricultural investments.
He noted that enhanced road infrastructure will facilitate the timely transportation of agricultural produce to markets, thereby promoting trade and reducing travel times for farmers and traders.
The community leader highlighted that the Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara road project, which includes two bridges, alongside the Mburubu-Nkerefi road, reflects the governor’s inclusive development strategy.
“By addressing the needs of rural communities, the government ensures that no area is left behind in the pursuit of progress,” he said.
He also pointed out that Governor Mbah’s focus on rural development aligns with global best practices that recognise the importance of integrating rural areas into the broader economic framework.
By connecting these communities to urban centers and markets, he argued, the state can unlock the agricultural sector’s full potential and create sustainable development pathways for future generations.
Chief Onuokaibe expressed confidence that the improved road infrastructure would lure further investments to Mburubu and its surroundings.
“This influx of investment will lead to job creation, increased productivity, and enhanced socio-economic stability for our people,” he remarked.
He conveyed profound gratitude to Governor Mbah for his visionary leadership and dedication to the welfare of all residents of Enugu State.
