Harford Oseke, a former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, has reportedly died, aged 64.
The deceased tragically passed away after collapsing during his exercise routine at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Monday.
Oseke represented Awka South II Constituency during which he became the Deputy Speaker of the 6th Anambra State House of Assembly.
In statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Emma Madu, the Speaker described Oseke’s death as a rude shock and devastating to the Legislative Institution in general and Anambra State House of Assembly in particular.
He noted that the late Deputy Speaker was able to give a good account of his stewardship especially in his political career where he empowered a lot of people in addition to constructing numerous constituency projects
In an emotion-laden voice, Rt Hon Udeze said the deceased had peaceful disposition, humane nature, philanthropy, legislative prowess and conviviality, stressing that his community Umuawulu in Awka South council area, State House of Assembly, Anambra State and Nigeria at large have lost one of the finest politicians.
While commiserating with the immediate family of the late former Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Harford Oseke, the Speaker charged them to uphold the good qualities of their husband and father especially his excellent service to God and humanity as a devout Christian.
