President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday sacked five of his Ministers in the much-speculated cabinet reshuffle.
The Ministers that were removed from the cabinet were Prof. Tahir Mamman, (Education), Uju Kennedy Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Mohammed Gwarzo (State for Housing), Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development), Lola Ade-John (Tourism) and the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, who has been replaced.
Tinubu has also forwarded names of seven ministerial nominees including Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Biafra leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the Presidency after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
The statement obtained by Ikengaonline read: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the immediate implementation of eight far-reaching actions to reinvigorate the administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency, pursuant to his commitment to deliver on his promises to Nigerians.”
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Jumoke Oduwole was named Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
The President also nominated Maigari Dingyadi as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Idi Maiha as Minister for the newly created Livestock Development Ministry, and Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.
He nominated Suwaiba Ahmad appointed as Minister of State for Education, and Dr. Nentawe Yilwada replaces Betta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Ojukwu, widow of the late Biafran leader Odumegwu Ojukwu, was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, in 2012, appointed Bianca Ojukwu Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and later served as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.
