...As Republicans win senate, leading in Reps
Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia
Former President Donald Trump of the Republican party is in early lead of the results so far announced in the November 5 presidential election in the United States of America.
Trump has so far won 23 states, collecting 246 electoral collage votes against his main challenger, Kamala Harris of the ruling Democratic party, who has won 12 states with 189 collage votes.
Trump has won some of the swing states including Texas and Ohio, and North Carolina while maintaining a lead in other reliably Republican-leaning states.
Harris has so far captured 14 states including big electoral vote prizes California and New York — as well as the US capital Washington.
