Ben Ezechime, Enugu
The Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, has commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, on it’s contributions to the development of the state’s education sector.
He gave the commendation when he received a delegation of the House of Representatives Committee on TETFUND led by the Committee’s Chairman and member representing Okigwe/Onuimo/Isiala Mbaano Federal Constituency of Imo State, RT. Hon Miriam Onuoha, in his office.
The governor expressed gratitude to the committee for their commitment to overseeing TETFund’s activities and ensuring its impact was felt across Enugu State.
Earlier, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Onuoha, who doubles as the Secretary of the South-East Caucus of the House of Representatives, told the Governor that they were in Enugu on a working visit.
She explained that the committee was established to address critical concerns arising from alleged performance issues, execution, and implementation of TETFund allocations.
Onuoha said they were in Enugu to ascertain the status of the Tertiary institutions in the state and to see how to assist the institutions in accessing interventions made available over the past four years, lying unused in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), into the state Coffers.
