Gov. Alex Otti has constituted Christian and Muslim pilgrims welfare boards respectively.
This was contained in two separate statements by his Chief Press Secretary, Njoku Ukoha Njoku.
According to the statement, while the immediate-past state Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Apostle Emmanuel Agomuo, was appointed the Chairman of the Christian Pilgrims welfare board; the Chief Imman of Abia State, Sheikh Ali Ukiwo, is to head the Muslim pilgrims welfare board.
“I am directed to convey His Excellency’s approval for the appointment of the following persons as Chairman and members of the Abia State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board,” the statement read in part:
Other members of the 11-man Christian Pilgrims welfare board include: Archbishop Dr Chikezie Emmanuel Elekwa; Rev. Prof. Mosy Madugba; Rev. Ojo Ojo Uduma, and Bishop Manasses Okere.
Bishop Dr. Udo U. Nmeregini, Most Rev. Dr. Uma Onwunta – Member, Pastor Uche Nwoke, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Kalu, Pastor Ugochukwu Kingsley Chimereze Pastor Chioma Ibezim, also made the list.
This appointment takes immediate effect.
Members of the Muslim pilgrims welfare board include Imam Musa Iro, Yusuf Ukaegu, Nwakanma Abubakar Igwe, and Imam Bashir Idris.
Others are Imam Usmar Tukur, Adamu Audu, Okikiade Yusuf, Said Umar, Hajia Azeezat Jimoh, and Hajia Hadiza Usman Pepe.
Both appointments are with immediate effect.
