Four victims of alleged kidnapped in Oshiagu Amia-Ngbo, Ngbo Community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have regained their freedom.
The victims, one of whom is the village head were reportedly rescued by officers of the police command in the state in collaboration with members of the local vigilance group.
The Ebonyi Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah, said that the four persons were allegedly kidnapped in the community by 2pm on April 1 by unknown persons.
Odah said that the victims had been handed over to the Divisional Police Officer in the area, adding that they were in a better position to narrate what happened to them.
She raised a concern that four persons, including a village head would be kidnapped and nobody would care to report such matter to the police.
The police spokesperson advised members of the public to always avail security agencies with such information that would aid them in doing their job of curbing crime.
She also appealed to them to be their brothers’ keepers.
Odah commended the gallantry of the police officers who embarked on the rescue operation, adding that the abductees were rescued in the same community where the incident allegedly occurred.
She said that the assailants fled on sighting the police during the operation, adding that surveillance had been placed on the abductors with a view to arresting and bringing them to book.
