The Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice Ray Ozoemena on Tuesday swore-in 1, 460 corps members for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2022 Batch ‘A’, Stream 1 Orientation Course in the state. The Administrator, Ugwunye/Ezedike Development Area in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Joe Anieze has called on the state government to see journalists as development partners whose welfare must be first charge. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama says no fewer than 204 Nigerians living in Ukraine have been safely received and provided accommodations by officials of Nigerian Embassy. Onyeama disclosed this in a statement made available to Ikengaonline on Monday. The minister said that the affected persons were currently being documented and awaiting final arrangements to be brought back to Nigeria. He said that officials of the embassy at Bucharest, Romania received 130 Nigerians while those in Budapest, Hungary safely received and accommodated 74 Nigerians. In an astonishingly absurd pervasion of moral logic, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nnenna Oti, who should be sued and terminated for desecrating her university by fraudulently and illegally conferring a “professorship” (or, more correctly, “fraudfessorship”) on an undeserving serving minister, has sued the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) for pointing out her fraud and requesting her to reverse it. Last week, the People’s Gazette published a news story about how Vice President Yemi Osinbajo obtained N200 million naira from GT Bank in 2015, soon after he was named Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate. The newspaper received copies of bank transfers showing that in 2015, the then pastor turned politician got GTBank’s Investment One fund management department to pay N200 million in three installments of N100 million, N50 million and N50 million to Mr. Osinbajo’s campaign account. The Court of Appeal, Enugu Division has upheld the dissolution of the Onyekachi Nwebonyi led State Executive Committee (SEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State. Recall that the national leadership of the PDP dissolved the then SEC following the defection of Gov. Dave Umahi to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Consequently, the Nwebonyi led executive committee challenged the dissolution in a suits filed at the Federal High Court, Abakaliki and State High Court, Abakaliki and got favourable judgements that set aside the dissolution.
