Ike Nnachi,  Abakaliki  Ebonyi State Government says that it has finalised plans to establish a Metallurgical Institute for research purposes in the State. Chidi Onyia, the Commissioner for Solid Mineral Development, stated this in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State. Ben Ezechime, Enugu  The Blood Cells Rescue Initiative (BCRI), a Non Governmental organization (NGO) based in Enugu, South-East Nigeria,  has carried out free consultation, screening, and medication to sickle cell patients to more than 300 sickle cell patients in Enugu Urban. Ben Ezechime, Enugu  The Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), has urged the Enugu State Government to address irregularities in the payment of Consolidated Health Salary Structures (CONHESS), to health workers in the state. Abbas Tajudeen, Monday, withdrew the controversial bill seeking to make voting mandatory for all eligible Nigerians. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Abia State Government says it is set to establish $1.3  world-class medical city in the state.
