Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution to end the growing extortion of parents and guardians by public, private and mission schools in the state. During Tuesday plenary, the Assembly called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Commissioner for Education to the schools in addressing the exorbitant cost of textbooks, school uniforms purchased from exclusively designated vendors and mandatory extramural classes. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka  The Pro-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Amb Greg Mbadiwe, has directed academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, of the insitution and those that dragged the university to court to withdraw cases in court or face disciplinary actions. This directive was contained in an internal memo dated November 11, 2024, and referenced NAU/REG/958/Vol.VII/44.
