Michael Onwuka, Enugu The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Enugu State has suspended its 30 days old strike. The president of the Union, Mr Kenneth Ugwueze, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Enugu. Recall that local government workers in the state had on July 28, 2022 proceeded on strike following the inability of the government to pay the N30, 000 minimum wage to workers in that tier of government. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka No fewer than two hundred persons have been arrested and tried for flouting Anambra state environmental laws. The individuals were arrested and tried at Magistrate Court, Awka and other mobile courts that sat in different parts of Awka. Their arrests were as a result of failure to participate in the August edition of the monthly sanitation exercise, which is carried out every last Saturday of the month. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Lecturers of Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State, on Monday protested over six years unpaid allowances, warning the provost and management of the institution to stop intimidating their members over the development. The chairman, FCET Umunze chapter of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Dr Churchill Okonkwo, led the protest.
