Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia, Our Reporter, Abuja The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been declared winner of the Osun gubernatorial election conducted yesterday (Saturday) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The PDP candidate who obtained the majority votes scored 403,371 defeated his closest rival, the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola who scored 375,027. The declared results showed that Adeleke won in 17 of the 30 local governments in Osun State while the governor won in 13 LGAs. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Civil Society Organizations in the country have condemned the non-implementation of provisions of the Climate Change Act 2021 by Nigeria’s Federal Government. They expressed dismay at the lack of actions in activating the core provisions of the act, eight months after it was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari. The leaders of civil society organisations and other experts in climate change sector therefore demanded for immediate implementation of the act by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Nonsochukwu Uwa, Owerri Gunmen in the early hours of Saturday kidnapped a top official of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Kingsley Okorafor, close to his residence in Umuadara Umulogho autonomous community in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo state. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Government has made it clear that it has not made any form of increment to the normal tax rates paid by traders annually in the state. The clarification was made by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Dr Obinna Ngonadi against the backdrop of information making the rounds that the state government has multiplied taxation for traders in all markets. The demolition follows the plan of Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo to make Anambra a liveable homeland that will cost many home and shop owners their property.
