Mr Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late popular gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, has been arrested by the police for alleged homicide.
According to a police source, the suspect was picked up in Abuja on Sunday after the brother of the deceased gospel singer reported the matter to the police.
The 42-year old Isuochi, Abia State-born Osinachi, died last Friday at an Abuja hospital after allegedly suffering from domestic violence inflicted on her by her Pastor husband.
No sooner had the news of her shocking death filtered in than the social media was awash with allegations of constant beatings and bullying by her husband who was said to have kicked her in the chest.
The talented Osinachi was lead singer at the Dunamis International Church, Abuja. She became popular for her hit track, ‘Ekwueme’
Osinachi’s twin sister was said to have also confirmed that the husband kicked her in the chest which led to her being taken to the hospital.
Police said investigation had commenced into Osinachi’s death as a result of the alleged domestic violence.
