Expresses worry over deteriorating health

Family of the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, have prevented him from signing his legal documents to give authorisation to lawyers pursuing his matters.
The family, also accused the secret police of denying Kanu access to all members of the family who went to visit him on Monday.
According to them, only two out of the three family members authorised by court to visit him were allowed access to him while the third person was turned back.
Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, who made the allegation Monday, when the family went to visit him at the Abuja headquarters of the DSS where he is currently incarcerated, expressed annoyance over the attitude of the secret police.
Prince Emmanuel noted that for two consecutive times now, Kanu was totally denied access to his visitors including lawyers and family members.
He wondered why the security agency would continue to violate court orders concerning the detained IPOB Leader, while at the same time holding him illegally.
Prince Emmanuel further expressed worry over the health condition of the pro-Biafra movement leader, expressing dissatisfaction with the look of his leg.
Kanu demanded explanations from DSS on why Kanu was being shielded from his visitors.
“They should tell the world what they are hiding that makes them to keep him away from his visitors contrary to court orders,” he queried.
Prince Emmanuel, again, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to comply with Court judgments that ordered the immediate and unconditional release of Kanu.
The IPOB Leader has remained in a solitary confinement at the DSS headquarters since he was extraordinarily rendered from Kenya in 2021.
