All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, factional national chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, has said that the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, appears to be helpless in the struggle for the leadership of the party.
Chief Njoku made this assertion while fielding questions Tuesday on Arise TV programme, The Morning Show, monitored in Abuja.
While insisting that he remains the authentic national chairman of APGA following the Supreme Court’s decision to correct its own error in an earlier judgment, and the recent judgment from a federal high court sitting in Abuja, which declared him (Edozie Njoku) as the rightful national chairman of the party.
Njoku, however, said contrary to insinuations from some quarters, that he was not out to fight Governor Soludo whose election he worked for in the first place.
“In fact, I feel Sorry for Governor Soludo for what is happening now in APGA. I can say he is between the devil and the deep blue sea. The whole thing Victor Oye and his people are doing in APGA is messy.
“Oye has many Senior Advocates of Nigeria who are his friends, and he knows he is not the chairman of APGA. What he is doing is to deceive people, and collect as much money as he can from aspirants because for him, it is all about the money,” Njoku said.
He also stated that while Oye and his people are going on with their own illegal Congress, as the authentic chairman of the party, he is also organising their own congresses and believes that within the week, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will decide, who are the authentic leadership of APGA.
Chief Edozie Njoku said that the problem of APGA was traceable to the high handed attitude of the former governor, Willie Obiano, who pocketed the party and believed he could buy everyone in the party.
He also maintained that APGA is a national party; and not a property of Anambra State, and advised people with that atavistic mindset to “calm down a little.”
