The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday arrested former Imo State governor, Mr Rochas Okorocha over allegations of fraud.
Okorocha was reportedly arrested by men of the anti-graft commission after being detained in his Unity House private office in Abuja.
According to credible sources, the former governor is currently being questioned at the EFCC headquarters and it is unknown if he would be released today.
He had been under investigation over alleged money laundering by the EFCC and some of the allegations are linked to alleged corruption during his eight-year term as governor.
Okorocha is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a serving senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly.
The former governor is an acclaimed philanthropist and founder of Rochas Foundations which comprises a number of special schools that are spread all over Nigeria and gives scholarship to the less privileged children in the country.
