Three officials of Nigerian Customs have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in Isiokpo community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Ikengaonline reports that the gunmen had invaded a military checkpoint within Omuaga axis of Elele-Owerre, close to the Port Harcourt International Airport before killing their victims at Isiokpo

The hoodlums also destroyed the checkpoint and other property in the area.

According to a credible source, who is a resident of Isiokpo community, the incident happened by 12 midnight when the armed hoodlums stormed a checkpoint manned by customs officials in the community.

The source revealed that the hoodlums killed their victims, burnt down cars and went away without any interference.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command is yet to issue any statement on the incident.

However, members of a local vigilance group in the community reportedly arrived the scene after the hoodlums had finished the operation.
