The State Executive Council (SEC) of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has announced the recall of all its members that were suspended without due process.
The acting Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the party in the state, Mr Chikwado Chukwunta disclosed this on Thursday in Enugu during a meeting with APC local government chairmen.
Chukwunta said that the decision became necessary following the need to unify members of the party, adding that the days of rancour and impunity were over.
The acting chairman admitted that there members of the committee whose suspension by SEC did not follow due process.
He also cited an instance where one Michael Onyeka was suspended without fair hearing.
He said that Onyeka until his suspension was the APC chairman in Enugu East Local Government Area.
“We took the decision to recall those that were illegally suspended during our SEC meeting of Aug. 10. We decided to cancel every suspension that was done out of malice.
“It is time to unify the people because APC is a national party,” he said.
Chukwunta said that it had become necessary to reform the party in the state due to the need to make a good impression.
“Every leader of the party should go back to their ward in order to build the party. We must make a positive impact in order to win elections in the state,” Chukwunta said.
