Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in what appears to be his full endorsement of the candidacy of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi; and his running mate, Dr Yusuf Ahmed Datti, has said that Nigeria is on her path to revitalisation.
The former President who posted a photo where he was flanked by Obi and his running mate said in an accompanying text : “Nigeria on the path to revitalisation.”
The photograph was taken when Obi and his running mate visited Obasanjo in his country home at Otta, Abeokuta, in Ogun State.
Datti had earlier posted pictures of their visit to the former President on his own Twitter handle, but failed to disclose details of their discussions with him.
The visit, was believed to be part of the on-going nationwide consultations with critical stakeholders over their 2023 presidential project.
Datti had on Sunday evening posted: “Earlier today, myself and H. E. #PeterObi in company of other #NgLabour chieftains consulted with the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.”
Before Sunday’s visit to Obasanjo, pictures of Obi’s visit to the former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, on possible consultation grounds had surfaced online.
Support for the presidential ambition of Obi and his running mate has continued to swell across the country particularly among the youths who feel that recycled politicians have hijacked the future of the country, and must be stopped.
A lot of Nigerians from different tribes and religious backgrounds believe that a new Nigeria is on the horizon with Obi on the saddle.
