Social commentator and Coordinator of the African Center for Transparecy(ACT), Dr Osmund Agbo, was last Friday in Abuja, conferred with the prestigious Technology & Innovation Award, by the Rotary Club International.

The honour according to Rotary Club, is in recognition of his role as Founder, Technology and Innovation Centre, Enugu, an organization that supports local inventors and incubators in Nigeria.

The award was conferred on him during the investiture of Rotarian Max Amuchie, the publisher of the Sundiata Post, as the 6th President of the Rotary Club of Abuja, on Friday the 22nd of July, 2022.

Dr. Agbo thanked the organizers of the event for considering him worthy of such recognition.

Citing Mother Theresa’s famous quote as his life’s guiding principle, he stated: “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

Technology Innovation Centre Enugu, identifies local technology startups with great economic potential and provide them with seed money.

It  partners  a reliable start-up incubator, the Hardware Garage, also domiciled in Enugu and run by hardworking young Nigerians.

The company has successfully mid-wifed few local technology companies from product development to commercial success.

Findings by Ikengaonline revealed that the centre also organises annual Technology Innovation Fair that brings together innovators and business people under one roof, in a symbiotic relationship needed to move society forward.

Agbo is passionate about making Enugu State in particular and Nigeria in general a technology hub within the West African sub-region.
