Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has appointed Mr Monday Uzor as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS).
The governor announced the appointment Monday evening at a reception following his inauguration.
Mr Uzor was the immediate past Chief Press Secretary to former Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe.
Meanwhile, the governor has directed the immediate freezing of all government accounts in the state with immediate effect.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, said the governor directed all banks in the state to ensure no payments are made from the accounts.
The statement reads: “The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has directed the immediate freezing of all State government accounts domiciled in various banks with effect from , Tuesday, 30th May 2023.
“Consequently the Governor directs the Bank managers of all the banks that operate government accounts to immediately comply by ensuring that no payment is made from any government accounts till further notice,” the statement added.
