Enugu Rangers International FC Coach, Abdul Maikaba, has expressed the team’s readiness to get past Plateau United FC of Jos at the semi-final of the ongoing Federation Cup on Thursday.
Maikaba said this in a statement through his media officer, Nobert Okolie
He said that the club’s target of winning the trophy was still alive.
The semi-final match between the two Premiership side will take place at Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State on Thursday by 4pm.
“We have prepared ourselves to play against any opposition as our target remains to be crowned the Federation Cup champions for the season.
“Undoubtedly, Plateau United will come out strong and determined, but my players are well-motivated to get the desired result.
“I believe that the way my players are responding to training and instructions, there will be nothing stopping us from winning the oldest club competition for the 7th time,” Maikaba said.
It would be recalled that the two teams met 12 times at the top flight with the Jos side enjoying a slight edge after six wins as against five for the Flying Antelopes.
In the run to the semi-final, Rangers defeated Adamawa United, Kano Pillars, FC Ebedei, and Doma United, while Plateau United knocked out teams including Enyimba, Ingas, and Kwara United.
