Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki
The Member Representing, Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo, Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Nkemkanma Kama has described politicians plotting for a possible feud between the Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru and the Minister for Works, Senator David Umahi as selfish, wicked and mischief makers.
The Lawmaker stated this in an interaction with Journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
He maintained that there are many politicians in the State who are not happy with the cordial relationship that has existed between the Governor and the Minister and “for their selfish interest, they are bent on seeing the two men fall apart.”
He noted that their aim is to destabilise the current peace being enjoyed in the State and further described them as the worst set of people in Ebonyi State today.
He said: “There is no gain saying that there are people who are not happy with the peace that we are currently enjoying in Ebonyi State. There are politicians who are so desirous to see Governor Nwifuru and Senator Umahi fight but that will not happen.
“Those politicians are not just selfish but are wicked. They believe that the only way to benefit in the present administration is by creating problem between the two political Chieftains of the State.
“They are envious of the peace we are enjoying. Look at it, all the former Governors, the SGF, all the National Assembly members irrespective of party and almost all top politicians are in the same boat, some people are not happy, they want a fight. These are the evil people we have in the State.
“They want a division, so they can take sides and begin to gossip, give selfish and self-centered advice that will benefit them but unfortunately they won’t succeed.
“They are wasting their time, Umahi and Nwifuru will not fight. The cordial relationship will continue to exist and Ebonyi will continue to enjoy political peace.”
He maintained that Umahi and Nwifuru will not be caught up in the mischief and criminality adding that the Minister is a contented man and won’t want to interfer in the administration of Governor Nwifuru except playing advisory role.
“What Umahi wants in Ebonyi is Peace. He has made it clear that he will never fight with Governor Nwifuru and that anyone who tries to fight the Governor, will have him to contend with.”
Kama commended Senator Umahi for his fatherly role and being a bridge builder since the assumption of office of the present administration and urged him to continue to support the Nwifuru’s Government.
He noted that the one year in office of Governor Nwifuru has been that of unprecedented achievement and expressed the confidence that the second year will be more impactful on the lives of the people of the State.
