Manchester City star player, Phil Foden, has won the 2023/24 PFA Young Player of the Year award.
This was in recognition of his impressive performances and potential over the past season.
An announcement on the Professional Footballers Association X account, #PFA on Tuesday, revealed this.
Manchester City celebrated a PFA Player of the Year double on Tuesday night with Foden and Bunny Shaw claiming the men’s and women’s awards for the 2023-24 season.
Foden, 24, impressed with 19 goals and eight assists, playing a pivotal role in City’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title under Pep Guardiola.
His competition included last year’s winner, Erling Haaland, along with City teammate Rodri, Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, and Cole Palmer.
Shaw, the top scorer in the Women’s Super League (WSL) with 21 goals in 18 appearances, earned the women’s award despite an early end to her season due to a foot injury in late April. She is the first female City player to win since Lucy Bronze in 2016-17.
Shaw’s teammates Yui Hasegawa and Lauren Hemp were also among the nominees, alongside Chelsea’s Niamh Charles, Erin Cuthbert, and Lauren James.
