This was contained in the state’s budget breakdown presented by the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Chris Ozongwi, at a press briefing on Wednesday in Enugu.
The commissioner said that the state government required to make funds available to prepare adequately for the hosting of the festival.
“In this regard, N3billion provision has been made for revamping of the Awgu games village in Awgu Local Government Area.
“Also, a provision of N10 billion has been made for the renovation of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu,” he said.
He said that Gov. Peter Mbah was committed to ensuring that Enugu State hosts the best national sports festival ever in Nigeria.

He disclosed that the five designated parks in Enugu city were undergoing reconstruction to provide basic sports facilities for athletes ahead of the festival.
The National Sports Commission (NSC), had recently awarded Enugu State the hosting right for the 2026 edition of the national sports festival after Ogun in 2024.
