From Benin Republic to Egypt, Cameroon, Mauritius, Mozambique, Tanzania, Rwanda, DR Congo, Kenya, and Burkina Faso — you have all brought your colours, cultures, and courage to our country. Together, we have written a beautiful history of inclusion through sports — one that will echo across Africa for years to come.”
Governor Otti also commended the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) for their partnership and professionalism during the event.
“We have not only shared a championship,” he said.
“We have built friendships, order, and unity as one sporting family.”
He praised the athletes for their outstanding performances and sportsmanship.
“To our dear athletes, your performance has lifted our spirits and reminded us why sports remain one of humanity’s finest gifts. You will return home with medals and memories. You have all won in courage and character.”

“For us in Nigeria, this experience has been a priceless classroom. We have learned, improved, and been inspired. Let me assure you, Abia will bid to host again — and when we do, we will offer an experience that will far surpass this pioneering effort.
“As you prepare to depart, may you carry with you the warmth, friendship, and hospitality of Umuahia. Let the memories of your time here remind you that Abia welcomes the world — and the world is always welcome in Abia,” he added.
