Players of the Super Eagles have threatened to boycott their next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match against Algeria unless all outstanding winning bonuses are paid by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The team is expected to travel to Marrakech for the encounter.
A source close to the team disclosed that both players and officials are still awaiting bonus payments from the tournament. According to the source, win bonuses for the Eagles’ four matches against Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Mozambique remain unpaid.
The players have vowed not to travel for the Algeria match unless the outstanding entitlements are settled.
In November, the Super Eagles had similarly threatened to boycott their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Gabon over unpaid allowances.
In a joint statement signed by players and team officials at the time, the squad said: “The full squad, including officials, withheld from training today in Morocco because of unresolved issues with outstanding payments.
“The Super Eagles are awaiting a quick resolution to continue preparations for Thursday’s game with Gabon.”
