Men on Duty Care & Support Foundation organised a Christmas outreach during the festive holiday season to celebrate and appreciate members of the security agencies for sacrificing their own festive season to keep fellow citizens safe all over the country.
The outreach which took the form of a roadshow took off from Berger bridge, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, all through to Aminu Kano Crescent and Transcorp hotel traffic junction.
The outreach involved encouragement of security operatives on duty by providing them with cooked food, water and soft drinks as lunch package in the spirit of the Season.
According to the Coordinator of the Foundation, Barrister Chukwuma Nwaozuzu, our security men from all agencies deserve to be celebrated and encouraged for the efforts and sacrifices they make to secure our environs and keep our citizens safe.
“We had an outreach to celebrate and appreciate our security agencies for putting out their best in securing our environs during the yuletide.
“Policing in Nigeria faces several challenges, including inadequate funding outdated equipment, corruption, low officer morale and insufficient training. We all know that these can impact law enforcement efforts and public trust but our security agencies were ready to bust any nefarious plot or criminal action by any syndicate.
“We members of the Men on Duty Care and Support Foundation had a swell time with our security agencies on duty on Christmas day under Berger bridge, Aminu kano crescent and Transcorp hotel traffic junction,” Nwaozuzu said.
He further said the Outreach was geared towards appreciating the Army, Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Civil Defence, NDLEA, Immigration etc.
Some of the officers on duty who benefited from the free lunch package include traffic wardens, regular policemen, Road Safety officers and soldiers, lauded Men on Duty Foundation for remembering them and caring for them in the spirit of Christmas.
The officers thanked and commended the Foundation while pleading for useful information from members of the public to aid them in keeping the nation safe.
