There was dilemma around choosing a fitting title for today’s edition of our weekly digest. The first instinct was to theme it “Shaka Momodu was right.” The reason for that contemplation, you will discover as we muse along. It got to be nerve racking for a 37-year-old lieutenant colonel Vladimir Putin as he watched angry crowds overrun the sprawling Stasi compound, the inner sanctum of which housed the KGB headquarters in the East German city of Dresden where he was stationed in December 1989. The voice at the other end was clear about the fact that “Moscow is silent” and that meant he shouldn’t expect any help.…

In an astonishingly absurd pervasion of moral logic, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nnenna Oti, who should be sued and terminated for desecrating her university by fraudulently and illegally conferring a “professorship” (or, more correctly, “fraudfessorship”) on an undeserving serving minister, has sued the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) for pointing out her fraud and requesting her to reverse it. In September 2021, Oti also instructed a bunch of comically illiterate lawyers (who are incapable of writing a sentence in English that isn’t a rib-tickling mockery of the language) based in Oguta to threaten…
