Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Fear has gripped 48 traditional rulers in Anambra State, following a suit brought against them for purported procedural defects in their recognition. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The Abakaliki Division of the Federal High Court has again nullified the Ebonyi Local Government elections and sacked all the 13 Council chairmen in the state. The court also sacked all the 171 ward councilors elected same day with the Chairmen. The court had earlier on August 25 nullified the council polls of May 31. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The Abakaliki Division of the Federal High Court on Friday declared the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that emerged from the May 28 and 29 primaries as the authentic candidates of the party. The court therefore declared Mr Ifeanyi Odii as the authentic governorship candidate of the party having emerged from the governorship primary of May 29. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The only Kidney Transplant Centre in the South-East located at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, Abia State, says it has conducted 10 kidney transplants since inception  five years ago with 70% success.
