Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The new Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, Mustapha Mohamed Bala, has issued quit notice to criminals terrorising residents of the state. Bala who gave the quit notice after he assumed duty Friday at the Police headquarters, Bende Road Umuahia, said that criminals elements would no longer have any breeding ground in the state. He said that the command under his watch, would synergise with other security agencies to ensure safety of lives and property. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has inaugurated the state’s Human Capital Development Technical Working Group to improve health and nutrition, education and skill acquisition among indigenes and residents in the state. Soludo who was represented by the state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, while inaugurating the group in his office at the Government House, Awka, Thursday, informed the members of the group that there was work to do. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia A Non-Governmental Organization, NGO, Progressive Abia Youths, PAY, says it had begun mobilisation of Abia youths for aggressive sensitisation of voters on the collection of their Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVCs; and for full participation in the 2023 elections. President General of the NGO, Comrade Kingsley Ekejiuba, who disclosed this during a workshop for youths in Abia, vowed to end voter apathy in the state. The African Democratic Congress, ADC, on Thursday raised an alarm over the alleged destruction of campaign billboards of the ADC, candidates in Imo State, by suspected agents of the State Government.
